About Me

Most of you reading this will already know a lot about me. For those that came across my page by happenstance, or for those that need a good refresher, the following is for you.

Who I am:

My name is Matt. I am happily married. We have cats. That's exciting. I have a very dry, dark sense of humor that will likely not translate very well over the internet. Oh well.

What I do:

Currently, nothing. Career wise, I used to teach high school math. Until recently, I was taking classes to get a second degree, this time in Information Technology. My plans are currently on hold.

What my interests are:

I have been a lifelong gamer, almost 30 years now. I have a vested interest in music, as I often find a good deal of inspiration within it. I also have a fondness for computers and just tinkering with things.

  1. Hi Matthew,
My name is Brian and I just thought I would give some tips as my wife was one of the first to trial Vemurafenib.
Your Oncs should have mentioned that factor 50 sunscreen is a daily MUST DO.
Even on an overcast day with no sun out, the light even goes through clothes, so No short sleeves or shorts.
Loads of other tips including all her side effects if interested.
    Best of luck

  2. Thanks Brian. I was wondering about the clothes issue and will keep that in mind when I apply. I am being somewhat of a hermit, so sun exposure for me has been minimal. Me and my wife go for walks in the evening after the sun has set to help prevent issues.

They mentioned sunscreen, but never told us what the best SPF was. We've been using a 30 sport to keep the application longer during sweaty times.
